OK, so here is the scoop on the Maxxima LED Clearance and Turn/Stop lights. I did a little experimenting. The Clearance/Marker only version of this light is the M09300Y which has two wires. This version is the M09300YAT which has three wires going into the light; Red Black and White. The WHITE Wire is the ground. The RED wire gives full brightness and the BLACK wire gives a reduced brightness. The package reports the draw at 45ma (bright) and 15 ma (reduced). The black thing in the middle of the wire in the picture that looks like a connector (but is not) is some type of regulating circuit for the low brightness mode since you can see through the clear amber plastic that only two wires actually enter the light. This circuit is marked as made in South Korea. I compared it side by side with the M09300Y and they look identically bright when the M09300YAT is running on the red wire. The M09300YAT is noticeably dimmer when powered through the black wire as expected. Keep this in mind if you are mixing up light models so you don't get a mismatch. I would imagine that the red lens models behave the same way. These are easier to install pushing them through from the front, but can be manipulated in from the back if necessary by removing the grommet and inserting the LED module from the back side through the 3/4 inch hole. You then stretch the grommet over the LED and mount the grommet in the panel and then proceed as you would installing the light from the front. The diameter of the light without the grommet is approximately .728 inches. These are both nice bright compact low current draw lights. I am using them on an ATV, and they appear durable and well sealed. Time will prove durability.
