Burr Coffee Grinders are the way to go, imo. This Gevi does great at handling your beans and giving you select size grounds with consistent and even grinding. Love that fresh ground smell, and the quality of the coffee (pending your bean choice, of course) is a next level coffee enjoying experience. The cup size selector does a pretty good job at estimating how much grounds you'll need, or you can input number of seconds for it to grind, both work well. The hopper is the grind size selector, which is neat and functional . So far, I've only used it for French Press and Pour Over styles of brew, but they turned out excellent.One gripe I do have, and I've seen other reviewers mention this - once you finish grinding and remove your grind collection cup, if you bump the unit, grounds that were stuck up in the unit will inevitably fall out and make a mess. I've tried a few methods to prevent this, but I've accepted that it is how this thing is designed, so when I am done, I always just put the grounds collection cup back under the outlet, ready to catch anything while the unit is sitting in wait for its next use. It's really not a huge issue, but worth noting.First of all, this is a gorgeous coffee grinder. The off-white color is so unique and provides the warm and cozy look that any coffee bar requires. This is also made of a durable material that doesn’t look cheap– it comes in the box completely put together which is different from other coffee grinders where you have to install all of the many pieces yourself. Additionally, I am super impressed with this grinder because it has SO many settings for you to change according to your own espresso machine and your liking. The directions do a great job of letting you see which beans are meant for which purpose and how you should change your settings according to the coffee you want to make. You can adjust the level and duration of grinding as well as the size.My issues here are that this grinder comes with a bit of a mess. I will say that the filter doesn’t seem to be narrow enough to get all the grinds in the stem so it creates a mess beneath. Additionally, it will drop crumbs of leftover grinds throughout the day so it is hard to keep the space around it clean. Unfortunately, I have also been having a bit of an issue when you plug and unplug this. I have been moving it around a bit and when you unplug it, the settings completely reset and you have to start all over again. This is frustrating and time-consuming!Overall, this grinder promises to do a lot with its many settings and approachable design, but it falls short when asked to store data in its memory and keep itself clean!I'm using this to make espresso coffee, and it's taken some time to finally get the beans ground fine enough to hit that 'sweet spot' with the pressure on the espresso machine. I have to basically set the grinder to '1', and hope it doesn't clog anything. It did the first time, but it's working now. Also, I have to turn the plug off (it's plugged into an outlet tied to a power switch) so it 'resets' each time I use it, else it wants me to remove the feeder to let me adjust the cup or timing selection and then start grinding. Other than that, it works well; it grinds the beans to the desired setting and the amount. I like that you can pick by 'cup' or 'time'. It looks nice, too.
